Free Check-up Camp held for Women’s Health Awareness at GBPUAT

Pantnagar, 9 Apr: A free health check-up camp was successfully organised by the Ladies Club, Pantnagar, at Lambert Square Guest House of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The primary objective of the camp was to conduct health check-ups of women employees of the university and to raise awareness about the prevention of various diseases.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Veena Chauhan, President of the Ladies Club, Pantnagar. During the camp, Senior Medical Officer Dr Durgesh Yadav from the University Hospital, along with his team comprising four experienced doctors and two nursing staff, provided their services.

During the camp, women underwent free tests including blood pressure, eye examination, dental check-up, women’s health check-up, and general health examination. A total of 60 women were examined, including 45 women workers from the University Farm and Garden Section and 15 women from various faculties.

Along with the check-ups, doctors also educated women about adopting a healthy lifestyle, maintaining a balanced diet, and the importance of regular health check-ups. They also provided detailed information on preventive measures for common diseases.

On this occasion, gifts were also distributed to the women by the President of the Ladies Club, Pantnagar, Veena Chauhan, and the Secretary, Vijaya Singh. This initiative was highly appreciated by the women employees of the university, who expressed their expectation for regular organisation of such health-related programs in the future. The initiative of the Ladies Club, Pantnagar proved to be an important step towards promoting health awareness in society.
