Dehradun, 30 Sep: Lok Sabha MP from Haridwar Parliamentary constituency and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat, while communicating with intellectuals in a meeting organised by Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan, said that there is a need to discuss with intellectuals, educationists and scientists for solutions to various issues related to the common person in society. To conduct this discussion in a continuous manner, he advocated starting a lecture series titled ‘Gang Dhara: Vicharon Ki Aviral Shrunkhala’. He said that, just as the Ganga has been flowing since time immemorial, in the same way the uninterrupted flow of knowledge has been going on since every era to reduce the difficulties in the life of common people. In ancient times the sages and saints used to dedicate their entire life for the welfare of society. Even today educationists and scientists are conducting effective research and studies to solve the problems of society.

This lecture series will be dedicated to discussions to solve the problems of the general public. Trivendra Singh Rawat said, “We all have to understand the continuity, creativity and philosophy of the Ganga. The main topic of the lecture series will be centred on various contexts, changes and dimensions related to the period from the origin of Ganga to today’s Amrit Kaal. Also, migration from the state, the impact of climate change on various sectors including agriculture and various issues related to the Himalayas, especially ecosystem services, will be the dimensions of discussion in this lecture series.”

The MP said that, today, domestic disputes, increasing tendency towards suicide, increasing drug addiction in society are very worrying issues. For this it is necessary that the youth should be introduced to the Indian way of life and value-based culture. They need to be exposed to the success stories of joint families in this lecture series.

Rawat added that, like the uninterrupted flow of the Ganga, this lecture series will continuously work to illuminate society with the light of knowledge and discover options to solve these problems.
