Dehradun, 26 Dec: Gita Jayanti was celebrated on 22 December at Lucent International School. The programme was inaugurated with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the school manager, Jeevan Kumar (BJP MLA, Bihar). The programme began with the reading of the first verse of the Gita. Kumar described the importance of this holy book to the students.
On the occasion, students of the school recited poems and also organised a quiz competition.
At the conclusion, Principal Amit Sehgal briefed the students on the knowledge of the Gita and how it could guide them all.
Christmas was celebrated on 25 December. The programme began with Principal Sehgal describing the context of the festival. The Principal also shared some information related to the Tulsi Pujan, which also falls on the same day.
Later, a programme was presented by the students of the school. The young students were dressed up as in Santa. Gifts were presented to the children. A fancy dress competition was also organised. The winners of the competition were also awarded by the Principal.
In the end, teacher Pooja Verma extended Christmas greetings to all the students.
