Gov briefed on activities of ‘Village Industries Institute’

DEHRADUN, 29 Aug: President of Jyoti Gramodyog Sansthan, Ajay Kumar Saini, paid a courtesy call on Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. Saini informed the Governor about the new technology of honey production by the Village Industries Institute. He informed that the institute has developed a new method/technique of wax production which will be patented soon.
On this occasion, Lt-General Singh appreciated the institute for the innovative experiments and techniques being done in the field of beekeeping and honey production. He said that the economy of landless farmers can be better improved by keeping bees in the state. Singh said that the honey produced in the higher Himalayan regions of Uttarakhand has many medicinal properties and is in great demand in the country and abroad. We need to promote beekeeping more and more.
