Sanitation services of medical colleges will be outsourced: Dr Dhan Singh Rawat

DEHRADUN, 29 Aug: State’s Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting with principals of all medical colleges in the auditorium of Government Doon Medical College, here, on Monday.

It was decided at the meeting that the sanitation services in the hospitals affiliated to the State Medical Colleges will be strengthened through outsourcing. For this, the Directorate of Medical Education will prepare a proposal and make it available to the government. After this, with the permission of the government, all medical colleges will be able to obtain outsourced services for cleaning.

The deployment of Class IV personnel in various wards will be done as per NMC norms so that 24-hour ward boy service is available to all the patients coming to the medical colleges. E-library facilities will be started soon in medical colleges to make books available through online medium to the students studying medicine, including the textbooks and research papers of the best authors of the country and abroad.

In this regard, instructions have been given to the Directorate of Medical Education to provide the services of an e-library soon, which will be formally inaugurated at the beginning of this session. The minister instructed the representatives of executive bodies and departmental officers associated with the ongoing construction works in Pithoragarh, Haldwani, Almora, Haridwar, Srinagar and Dehradun medical colleges to speed up the construction works.

Dr Rawat said that the college administrations need to pay special attention to cleanliness and providing a better study environment in the hostels of medical students.

Secretary, Health, Dr R Rajesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Medical University, Prof Hemchandra, Additional Secretary, Health Education, Namami Bansal, Director, Medical Education, Dr Ashutosh Sayana, Professor at KGMC Lucknow, Suryakant, principals of Pithoragarh, Haldwani, Almora, Haridwar, Srinagar colleges, and departmental officers of executing institutions were present at the meeting.
