DEHRADUN, 6 Dec: On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Governor Baby Rani Maurya has greeted the serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, their dependants, family members of the martyrs of the armed forces and people of the Veer Bhoomi, Uttarakhand.
In her message issued on the eve of Armed Forces Flag Day, the Governor said that every citizen of the country was proud of the brave, courageous, valiant soldiers, who are always ready to make sacrifices for the defence of the country, and are ever ready to protect the lives of common people during natural disaster.
She said that the Flag Day gave the opportunity to every citizen of the country to contribute generously to the ‘Armed Forces Flag Day Fund’ and express gratitude and respect towards brave soldiers. The amount collected on Flag Day is used for the welfare of ex-servicemen, widows of soldiers and their dependants. She appealed to all the citizens of the state to make this sacred day successful by donating generously.
