CM remembers Ambedkar’s contribution to country

Champawat, April 14: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a programme organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar at Government Higher Secondary School, Narsingh Danda, in Champawat, today. On this occasion, he paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 132nd birth anniversary by offering flowers before his portrait. While addressing the public meeting held on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Ambedkar led the great work of bringing the deprived sections of society into the mainstream. He raised a strong voice in the country against the caste system and the social ill effects arising out of it. Dhami said that the countrymen will always be grateful to Ambedkar for his contribution in the making of the Indian Constitution. Baba Saheb also played an important role in preparing the foundation of modern India, Dhami added, and asserted that Ambedkar had worked for the uplift of every section of society.
The CM said that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is being done keeping in view every section of society. Schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Aawas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi and ration to 80 crore people have been implemented under Modi’s leadership. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared this decade as that of Uttarakhand when he was in Kedarnath. The state government is working sincerely towards achieving that objective. Last year, there was a rapid increase in the number of devotees in Chardham Yatra and the Kanwad Yatra. More devotees are expected to visit Chardham this year.
He added that, under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, the work of beautifying all the temples of Kumaon Mandal and connecting them by developing infrastructure facilities is being done in the form of a circuit. The state of Uttarakhand would lead other states in many fields. The model of Uttarakhand will become a model for the whole of India, the CM claimed.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also honoured Narayani Devi, who has given employment to 40 women in Lohaghat, for her commendable work and for inspiring others to work in the same way. The Chief Minister made various announcements for the development of the area on the occasion.
District Panchayat President Jyoti Rai, Development Block Chief, Champawat, Rekha Devi, Vinita Fartyal, Sumanlata, BJP District President Nirmal Mahra, BJP District President, SC Morcha, Govind Prasad, BJP’s District Incharge Ganesh Bhandari, BJP’s General Secretary Mukesh Kalkhudia, District President, SC Cell, Madan Ram were among those present on the occasion.
