Gov Uttarakhand felicitates achievers in Mumbai

MUMBAI, 15 Apr: Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd) participated as the chief guest in the “Punjabi Icon Awards 2023” organised by the “Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board” in Maharashtra, Mumbai on Thursday evening.  In this program, the Governor honored people who have made commendable contribution in various fields with “Punjabi Icon Awards 2023”.  In his address, Lt-General Singh said that it is his good fortune that he too has got the opportunity to be honored today. He congratulated all the recipients of the Punjabi Icon Award and said that all have done excellent work in their respective fields, which have been appreciated today.

Lt-General Singh said that today the Sikh community is achieving a new milestone by working with their hard work, dedication and honesty in every corner of the world. The Governor said that during the service of the country, I myself have made the advice given by Guru Gobind Singh ji ‘Let us win with determination’ the mantra of life. He said that while in the army and now as the Governor, he has dedicated himself to the nation, society and public interest. He said that kindness, compassion, simplicity and innocence are the four main characteristics of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s personality, which every person needs to imbibe in his life.

He congratulated the Chairman of Punjabi Cultural Board Charan Singh Sapra for the successful conduct of the event.
