Govt committed towards promotion of regional cinema: Tiwari

DG Information launches promo of Garhwali film ‘Padhani Ji’

Dehradun, 23 Apr:  Director General of Information and CEO Uttarakhand Film Development Council, Banshidhar Tiwari launched a promo of Garhwali film ‘Padhani Ji’ at a function held at Information Directorate office on Friday. On this occasion Additional Director Information, Ashish Kumar Tripathi and Joint Director/Nodal Officer, Uttarakhand Film Development Nitin Upadhyay were also present.
Launching the promo of Garhwali film ‘Padhani Ji’, Director General Information and Chief Executive Officer, Uttarakhand Film Development Council, Banshidhar Tiwari said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s aim is to establish Uttarakhand as a leading film shooting destination in the country and the world. The state government is trying its best to develop all the basic infrastructure facilities to establish it as a preferred film shooting destination.
Tiwari said that the state government has brought two important policies, in which the equipment and services used in the film industry have been included under the services sector. And under the film policy, film city work and film making has been included in the Industries Sector. He said that the new film policy is being implemented soon by the state government, the draft of which has been prepared, it will be implemented after the permission of the government. In this, Chief Minister Dhami has taken special care that regional cinema should also be encouraged. For this, a proposal has been made to increase the grant amount for Garhwali and Kumaoni films. Film Development Council’s effort is to publish a directory of people associated with the film sector, such as producers-directors, artists, technicians and other service providers. Tiwari said that every possible step is being taken by the state government towards the promotion of films in the regional dialect/language of the state.
On this occasion, Ashok Chauhan (Ashu), the proprietor of Maheshwari Films and director of Padhani Ji film, informed that earlier he and his team have worked on many films and video albums. His team has made films like Batoi, Aunsi Ki Raat, Junyali Raat, Janmu Ku Saath, Ganga Ka Maiti Garhwali, Saat Phero Ka SaatonBachan, Garh Gaurav, Vikram Betal (Garhwali), Phir Aege Yaad Teri (Kumaoni), and also the film “Khairi Ka Din” which turned out to be a superhit last year.

On this occasion, senior artist Ghanna Bhai, former member Film Development Council Chandraveer Gayatri, senior journalist Manoj Ishwal, singer Poonam Sati, Prashant Gagodia, Mini Uniyal, Gaurav Gairola, Shivani Bhandari, Satyeshwari Bhatt, Punnu Gusain, Ramesh Rawat, Rita and other actors associated with the film including Bhandari, etc., were also present.
