Dehradun, 15 Oct: Hours before the announcement of the assembly byelection on Kedarnath constituency, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government announced approval for various development works worth Rs 13.897 crores for Kedar Valley. These development works have been approved on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Since morning, it was expected that by the afternoon, elections may be announced for Maharashtra and Jharkhand state assemblies and on various vacant assembly constituencies in several states including on Kedarnath assembly constituency. The announcement of the sanction was made hours before the announcement of the elections by the Election Commission of India.
Under the state plan, an approval of Rs 535.10 lakh has been given for the improvement and asphalting of the Chandrapurigugli-Aso-Jaykaran motor road in the development block Agastyamuni. The total length of this road is 5 kilometres. Apart from this, under the state plan, an approval of Rs 17.71 lakh has been granted for the construction of a double-lane class A loading 95-metre span steel girder motor bridge and a 2.50 kilometre long access road on the Alaknanda river between Sari Gauchar in the development block Agastyamuni.
In addition, financial approval has also been given for two other construction works in the Kedarnath assembly constituency under the state plan. In addition to the improvement and asphalting work of the Dewar motor road of 8.5 kilometres length, from the Guptkashi-Jakhdhar-Tayudi motor road in the development block Ukhimath at a cost of Rs 471.87 lakh and improvement and asphalting work on the Andargarhi to Dhartoliyon motor road (4.50 kilometre long) in the development block Agastyamuni at a cost of Rs 365.07 lakh has been approved.
