Graphic Era chosen for encouraging start-ups

DEHRADUN, 6 Apr: Graphic Era has been chosen the north India’s ecosystem partner for a whooping Rs 320 crore PSU project for encouraging start-ups in the country. The Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of Graphic Era will prepare new entrepreneurs from north India by helping start-ups from the state get grants form this national start-up corpus fund.
A total of ten prominent oil and natural gas PSUs in the country, –ONGC, IOL, GAIL, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, MRPL, EIL, NRL and Balmer Lawrie,– have started a new initiative with the intention of encouraging new start-ups in the country. In order to encourage entrepreneurship in Indians, these companies have earmarked an oil and gas start-up corpus fund of Rs 320 crore. The TBI of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Bhubaneswar has been selected as the implementing partner for selection of best start-ups through a unified common platform.
CEO of KIIT TBI, Mrutyunjay Suar today said that Graphic Era’s TBI has been selected as north India’s ecosystem partner for the project. Any person from the state, who has a start-up idea, can approach Graphic Era’s TBI. The experts here will develop the start-up idea and help them get grants from the national corpus fund. The TBI in Graphic Era is sponsored by the central government’s Department of Science and Technology (DST) and we are expecting to get several good start-ups from here.
Vice Chancellor Dr Rakesh Sharma thanked KIIT TBI for selecting Graphic Era as the ecosystem partner for the project. Along with start-ups from Dehradun, Haldwani, Joshimath, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Almora, students from Graphic Era Deemed, Graphic Era Hill and other educational institutes remained present in the programme which focused on creating environment of innovation in the country.
