DEHRADUN, 1 Mar: In order to spread awareness about environment conservation, young cyclist Narpat Singh Rajporohit from Rajasthan, reached Graphic Era Hill University on Thursday. He also planted a sapling along with the teachers and students of the University.
Narpat Singh Rajporohit started his cycling journey from Jammu on 27 January this year and reached Dehradun, today, at Graphic Era Hill University after completing 900 kilometres on the bicycle. He aims to cover nearly 26,500 km of cycling all over the country.
Addressing the students, Narpat Singh said, “Change is necessary but not at the cost of the environment.” He further said that the youth of today held the most important responsibility of environment conservation.
To mark the importance of the issue, Graphic Era Hill University also established the ‘Golden Green Club’. The club aims to generate awareness and sensitise young students on the environment and wildlife. The club is coordinated by Dr Kamal Kant Joshi, Head of the Department Environmental Studies, GEHU.
Present were renowned cyclist Vishva Dhiman, Kamaljeet Dhiman and faculty members of the Media and Mass Communication Department, GEHU, and students of the University.
