Graphic Era honours women achievers on Women’s Day

DEHRADUN, 7 Mar: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Graphic Era honored women from diverse fields today. In all these years, women have set new records of success in their respective fields. At the ceremony, Arjuna Awardee and the first lady climber and educationist Dr Harshwanti Bisht said that anything can be achieved with true determination, Bisht also said that women can write a new chapter of success on the strength of their will. Famous TV anchor Sumaira Khan, emphasized to a gathering of students that there can be no substitute for hard work and dedication to arrive at success. Khan also said that although the ratio of women to men is still less than in media, but in the coming times much positive change can be expected. Expressing views on the important role of women in society, Dr. Luna Pant, the first female intervention cardiologist in the state, said that it is very important for women to get equal respect in order to strengthen and empower society. She said that it was impossible to realize the dream of making Uttarakhand a separate state without the cooperation of women. In the ceremony, Divya Rawat the first mushroom lady, Registrar Technical University, Dr. Anita Rawat, first IPS officer, SP City, Shweta Chaubey, renowned writer and journalist Dr Anjali Nauriyal and Prof. R.K.Dhar also shared their experiences with the students. Dr Nauriyal explained how she scaled significant landmarks in her career with single minded devotion and focus. In her welcome address Rakhi Ghanshala, senior official of management of Graphic Era Group, said that the success stories of all these women stand as wonderful examples before the exemplary coming generations which they can emulate. Ghanshala honoured all the women achievers with mementos and bouquets. Female workers of Graphic Era were given pressure cookers of 5 litre each as a present on International Women’s Day. Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University, Dr RK Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Jasola, Director, Prof. Dr. Ajay Sharma, Director of Infrastructure, Prof. Dr. Subhash Gupta and other dignitaries and students were present on the occasion.
