Dehradun, 19 Dec: Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Dr Narpinder Singh has been conferred the ‘Prof Priyadaranjan Ray Memorial Award 2023’ by the Indian Chemical Society.
This award recognises scientists for their outstanding contribution to the field of chemistry. Dr Narpinder Singh has been honoured with this award for his exemplary contribution to the field of starch chemistry. Included in the top 1% scientists of the world, Dr Singh is opening new opportunities for industrial and nutritional avenues. His research works include studying starch from diverse botanical sources, developing innovative solutions to overcome limitations of starch, chemical and physical modifications of starch and new sustainable technologies. Dr Singh’s research also focuses on critical impact of increasing temperature on chemical and processing properties of cereals, sustainable and efficient food processing techniques. On this occasion, Dr Singh said that these research works will be helpful in developing new innovations to meet global challenges.
Dr Narpinder Singh was presented this award at the 61st Annual Convention of Chemists 2024 organised at JECRC University, Jaipur.
