Mussoorie, 25 Sep: Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School concluded the annual Inter-House Gurbani Music Competition, here, today. The tradition started by Sardar Mehtab Singh and Sardarni Jasvir Kaur is followed by the students of the school every year. Annual Gurbani singing has an important place in the school curriculum.
Sardar Harpreet Singh presided over the programme. The competition began with solo singing by the students of Vincent Hill. Amrit Pal Singh secured the first position by singing the shabad, ‘Patit Pavan Prabhu Tero Naam’. Krishiv secured the second position and Shubh Karman secured the third position.

The inter-house positions were – Nalwa House secured the first position, Attari House, the second position, Ranjit House, the third position and Ajit House, the fourth. In solo singing in the girls’ category, Gori Malhotra got first place, Arika Bansal got second place and Lakshita Singh got third place. Inter-house positions in girls’ category, were Attari House, first, Ranjit House, second, Ajit House, third, and Nalwa House, fourth. In the boys’ category, soloists Govind Lal, Bhai Parpat Mankhu Dehuria and Amritpal Singh mesmerised everyone with their singing. Girl students mesmerised the entire audience by singing ‘Guru Guru Guru Kar Man Mere, Karo Vinatiya Swami Mere Ram, Prabhu Mil Gaye Ko Preet Man Lagi’. Puneet Pal Singh from the boys’ side and Jasmine Kaur from girls’ side conducted the stage smoothly.
Sardar Harpreet Singh gave a brief introduction while welcoming Sardarni Ranjit Kaur, Bhai Pritam Singh Preet, Bhai Jarnail Singh in the jury. Principal Anil Tiwari and Headmaster Kuldeep Tyagi thanked the jury and announced the result. Principal Anil Tiwari thanked the jury and presented mementos to them.
