Haridwar Mayor Kiran Jaisal and 60 Councillors sworn in

Haridwar, 7 Feb: The newly elected Mayor of Haridwar, Kiran Jaisal, along with 60 newly elected municipal corporators was sworn in during a formal ceremony administered by District Magistrate Karmendra Singh. The event marks the official commencement of the new Municipal Corporation Board. Haridwar MLA and former BJP State President Madan Kaushik was also present on the occasion.

Following the Municipal Corporation elections, the long-awaited oath-taking ceremony was conducted today. After Mayor Kiran Jaisal took the oath, she proceeded to administer the oath to all 60 elected corporators. MLA Madan Kaushik, who attended the ceremony, congratulated the newly elected representatives and emphasised on the significance of the coming years in transforming Haridwar into a developed and well-planned city. He assured that collaborative efforts between the Municipal Corporation, the State Government, and the Central Government would play a crucial role in driving infrastructure and development projects forward.

After assuming office, Mayor Kiran Jaisal outlined her key priorities, including enhancing cleanliness across the city. She also announced plans to install CCTV cameras at multiple locations to ensure cleanliness at the ghats and ensure women’s safety. Addressing long-standing civic issues, she assured that the administration would work toward resolving waterlogging problems and removing illegal encroachments from Municipal Corporation lands.
