Haridwar to host 3rd Edition of Literature Festival from 26 Dec

HARIDWAR, 23 Dec: Haridwar is set to become a hub of literary and cultural exchange once more as the third edition of the Haridwar Literature Festival will be held from 26 to 28 December. The three-day festival will bring together noted writers, artists, theatre professionals, film enthusiasts and scholars from across India and overseas. Envisaged as a confluence of ideas, the event will feature a series of panel discussions, conversations and performances focusing on literary, cultural and contemporary themes.

The festival is being jointly organised by Antah Pravah Society and Jio Gita Sansthan, Kurukshetra. Leading figures from the fields of literature and the arts are expected to participate, while multiple sessions will explore diverse forms of creative and critical expression.

Festival Director Prof Shravan Kumar Sharma said the initiative seeks to bring literature and culture closer to the general public. He said, “The festival will act as a meaningful platform for dialogue between academics and creative practitioners, while also offering emerging writers an opportunity to showcase their talent. In its third year, the Haridwar Literature Festival has steadily gained recognition amongst readers and intellectuals. The earlier two editions received wide appreciation for their engaging programmes and inclusive cultural outlook.”

Sanjay Handa, Secretary, Antah Pravah Society, added that the festival will be hosted at Shri Krishna Kripa Dham, Bhimgoda, and will be held in the presence of Gita exponent Swami Gyananand.

Festival highlights: • Seminar on ‘Reimagining Indian Literature’ Ahead of the inaugural session on the opening day, a special seminar, titled ‘Reimagining Indian Literature’ will be organised. Scholars from different states will present research papers, examining evolving perspectives within Indian literary traditions. • Open Mic Session for new talents

An Open Mic Session on the first day is expected to be the key attraction. Designed to encourage young and upcoming writers, the session will provide participants with an opportunity to present their works and interact with the audience.
