Dehradun, 30 Jun: Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat presented details of departmental preparations in a virtual meeting organized under the chairmanship of Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, regarding the prevention of vector–borne diseases. He said that the health department is fully alert regarding seasonal diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Kala Jar, Chikungunya, Japanese fever, etc., in the state. The Chief Medical Officers of all the districts were instructed to remain in alert mode along with conducting public awareness campaigns in their respective districts in view of past experiences.

He said that the health department is fully alert regarding seasonal diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Kala Jar, Chikungunya, Japanese fever, etc., in the state. During this, a presentation was given by the Union Health Ministry on the prevention of vector–borne diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Black Jar, Chikungunya, Japanese fever, Filaria, etc. and all the seasonal diseases, in which statistics of vector–borne diseases were presented in the last 10 years across the country. Along with this, all the states were instructed to keep all the preparations complete along with running public awareness campaigns for the prevention of seasonal diseases according to their respective geographical conditions. Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said that the Central Government is very serious about the health of the common people, under which budget and human resources are being made available to all the states according to their demands. Despite this, if any state demands additional funds and resources, then also their demand will be met, provided the state spends the approved budget on time.
In the virtual meeting, Dr Rawat detailed the preparations being made by the state government for the prevention of vector–borne diseases. He said that the Health Department has completed all preparations for the prevention of vector–borne and water-borne seasonal diseases, under which guidelines have been issued to the CMOs of all the districts. He expressed gratitude to the Union Health Minister for giving consent to organize Chintan Shivir of health ministers from across the country in Uttarakhand from July 13 to 15. Along with this, he invited Dr. Mandaviya along with health ministers from all over the country to participate in the Chintan Shivir.
In the meeting, Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar, Director General Health Dr Vinita Shah, Additional Director Dr Bharti Rana, Director Dr Saroj Naithani, CMOs and departmental officers of all the districts were present.
