Dehradun, 30 Jun: All vacant posts of principals will be filled in the state colleges so that studies are not affected in the government colleges of the state. Along with this, the posts of class III and class IV, which have been lying vacant for a long time in government colleges, will also be filled soon, for which instructions have been given to the departmental officers.
Along the lines of the School Education Department, the Higher Education Department will also be continuously monitored and evaluated through the Vidya Samiksha Kendra. For this, instructions have been given to the departmental officers to set up a separate education review center.

Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat today took a review meeting of the Higher Education Department at his official residence in Yamuna Colony. He said that to ensure that the educational work in all government colleges under higher education is not affected, principals will be posted in all the colleges soon. At present the posts of principals are vacant in 7 state graduate colleges and 11 state post-graduate colleges, whose DPC process has been completed at the government level. He informed that 391 vacant posts of ministerial cadre in government colleges under the Higher Education Department will be filled soon through Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, while about 150 posts of Class IV will be filled through outsourcing. For this, departmental officers have been instructed to take immediate action.
Dr Rawat said that the requisition for the appointment of 455 assistant professors of various faculties in government colleges has been sent to the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, on which the final selection result will come within the next three months. After which the assistant professors will be posted in the colleges against the vacant posts. The departmental minister said that like school education in the state, higher education will also be brought under Vidya Samiksha Kendra so that the quality of education can be further improved by continuous monitoring and evaluation of higher education.
He informed that a separate building will be constructed in the Directorate of Education for Vidya Samiksha Kendra and the expenditure on its construction will be borne by both departments, whose in-principle consent has been given by both departments. He informed that the Higher Education Department will also be brought on the online platform through Vidya Samiksha Kendra, under which data related to all government colleges, studying students and teachers will be available online, as well as departmental officers will be able to monitor and evaluate the activities of colleges online. Apart from this, a review of all the activities ranging from the progress of the establishment works and available resources can also be done online.
In the meeting, Secretary Higher Education Shailesh Bagoli, Secretary School Education Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Higher Education MM Semwal, RUSA Advisor Prof MSM Rawat, Prof KD Purohit, Director Higher Education Dr CD Suntha, Director Secondary Seema Jaunsari, Joint Director Higher Education Prof AS Uniyal, Additional Director School Education Ramkrishna Uniyal, Assistant Director Higher Education Dr Govind Pathak and other departmental officers were present.
