Dehradun, 14 Nov: Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli reviewed the security arrangements in the state with senior police officers and District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all districts at the Secretariat here on Friday. He directed increased vigilance in all areas of Uttarakhand and a special vigil in the border areas.
The Home Secretary said that intensive checking operations on the borders of the states should continue unabated. Also, special care should be taken on the international border. The officials should visit all border areas and other sensitive places of the state. He also instructed installation of CCTV cameras, which will make tracking and monitoring of suspicious vehicles more effective.
The Home Secretary ordered intensive checking operations at major tourist places and special attention paid to the security arrangements of religious places. The Home Secretary also directed complete installation of CCTV cameras in cities and sensitive areas and their real-time monitoring.
Bagauli said that the safety of the residents and tourists of the state is the top priority of the government. He directed all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to immediately inform the headquarters and the government if necessary manpower, technology, or other resources are required to strengthen the security system.
Home Secretary Bagauli also directed similar coverage of the area around all government offices with CCTVs. He also urged the people of the state to follow safety standards.
Present on this occasion were ADGs Abhinav Kumar, V Murgeshan, as well as District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police (via virtual medium) from all the districts.
