Dehradun, 28 Nov: A ‘Human Resource Portal’ will soon be developed for maintaining the complete data of teachers and non-teaching staff working in the school education department. This portal will securely store the entire service records of the personnel. In line with the goal of connecting the new generation with India’s traditional knowledge systems, a residential model school will be established in each district.

State Minister for School Education, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, chaired a review meeting of the Education Department, today, at his office in the Legislative Assembly. During the meeting, he directed departmental officials to create the ‘Human Resource Portal’ for securely storing the entire service record of all teachers and non-teaching staff. He emphasised that, under the New Education Policy 2020, teacher and staff transfers would also be conducted online. To ensure this, it is essential to have the complete data of all personnel available on a single platform, and the ‘Human Resource Portal’ would serve as an ideal solution. This portal will allow the complete service records of any employee to be accessed with a single click, ensuring transparency in transfers and promotions while saving time.

Dr Rawat further stated that, in line with the state’s vision to promote Indian knowledge traditions, the state government will establish a residential school in each district. Certain criteria will be set to identify suitable locations for these schools, which will combine quality education with traditional learning and Indian culture. These schools must have sufficient land and other essential infrastructure. Admissions will be open for students from class 6 to 12.

In addition, as part of the NCC Expansion Plan, an NCC unit will be opened in one school in each block, and officials have been instructed to select the schools for this initiative.

The meeting also discussed the progress in the selection of PM Shri and Cluster Schools, as well as the deployment of teachers at Atal Utkrisht Vidyalayas. Furthermore, the reconstruction and repair of dilapidated buildings in primary and secondary schools were reviewed. Instructions were given to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for such schools and submit them to the government soon.

The meeting was attended by the Director General of School Education, Jharna Kamthan, Director of SCERT, Vandana Garbyal, Director, Primary Education, RK Uniyal, In-Charge Director, Secondary Education Dr Mukul Sati, Additional Director, Secondary Education (Garhwal) SB Joshi, Additional Director, Secondary Education (Kumaon), Amba Datta Balodi, and other departmental officials.
