IISWC holds Kisan Diwas at Ghaisain Village


DEHRADUN, 24 Dec: ICAR-IISWC organised a Kisan Diwas on Sunday at Village Ghaisain, Raipur Block, under the Clean India Mission. On the occasion, Director Dr PR Ojasvi spoke of the importance of Kisan Diwas, which is celebrated on the birthday of the late Ch Charan Singh, to honour the great kisan leader. He also requested farmers to take part in the Clean India Mission.
Dr Bankey Bihari, Head, Human Resource Development & Social Science Division, said that farmers should be united and come forward for their rights. He also elaborated on the schemes available in India to uplift farmers in society. Dr Indu Rawat, Scientist and Nodal Officer of the Clean India Mission, talked about the work done by Ch Charan Singh in favour of farmers of India. As many as 250 farmers from villages Sauna Saroli, Siriya, Badasi, Ghaisain, Kalimati, Pawwala Sada, Kotimachak, Bhagwanpurm Tali and Katkor of Raipur Block participated. Er SS Srimali, Dr Lekh Chand, Dr DR Sena, Dr Triya Roy and others were present on the occasion.
