DEHRADUN, 18 Oct: The stall put up by the Information & Public Relations Department has emerged as a major centre of attraction at the ongoing Virasat Mela in Dehradun. A large number of local residents, students, and young visitors thronged the stall to acquaint themselves with various public welfare schemes being run by the State Government.
According to the officials of the State Information Department, their department is actively disseminating comprehensive information about both Central and State government schemes, presenting the details in a simple and engaging manner through digital screens, posters, videos, and interactive displays installed at the venue. Visitors are being informed not only about the benefits of these schemes but also about the procedures for availing them, with on-site guidance being provided.
A notable highlight at the stall has been the enthusiastic response from the youth, who are showing keen interest in the stall’s exhibits. Many young visitors have been seen taking selfies with the visuals and videos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami displayed at the stall. According to them, such displays are not merely informative but also serve as a source of inspiration, offering insights into the Government’s developmental initiatives and its commitment to public welfare.
The initiative has received widespread appreciation from visitors, who have lauded the Department’s efforts in setting up such a public awareness stall at the mela. They felt that this approach is proving to be an effective medium for bringing government schemes closer to the people. The Information and Public Relations Department’s stall at the Virasat Mela is thus serving a dual purpose—acting as a robust platform for the dissemination of vital information and simultaneously becoming a vibrant centre of attraction and motivation for the youth.
