Dehradun, 13 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking at the ‘Naye Bharat Ki Baat Uttarakhand Ke Saath’ conclave organised at a local hotel here, today, reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing the Uniform Civil Code in the state at the earliest. He reminded that, in 2022, the government had pledged to initiate this process, and a committee was formed. After the committee submitted its report, the bill had been passed in the assembly and was sent to the President, who has also given approval. He said that this will soon be implemented. Dhami credited the people of Uttarakhand for this achievement.

The CM also shared the government’s efforts to promote winter pilgrimage to significant religious sites, including the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, which is the winter abode of Baba Kedar, Pandukeshwar and Narsingh Temple  in Jyotirmath, which is winter abode of Lord Badrinath, Kharsali which is winter abode of Yamunotri, and Mukhwa which is winter abode of Gangotri. He also reminded that under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, 16 temple areas in Kumaon, are being developed in the first phase.

Dhami emphasised the state’s initiatives to attract investment, noting that the Global Investors’ Summit held last year had resulted in MoUs worth over Rs 3.56 lakh crores. He added that the state has created more than 30 policies to foster an investment-friendly environment, simplifying many of them and implementing a single window system for permissions. He added that the initiatives taken by the government are making good progress in attracting investment in the state.

Dhami claimed that, as Uttarakhand enters its silver jubilee year of its establishment, the government is making every effort to position the state as a leading one in the country. Development schemes are being planned with a 25-year perspective, aiming to contribute significantly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of developing India by 2047.
