By Our Staff Reporter
DEHRADUN, 20 Sept: State Medical Health and Medical Education Minister, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, today conducted a detailed review of the health services of the Srinagar assembly constituency in the auditorium of the Directorate General of Health. He instructed the departmental officers to expedite the establishment of the Center of Excellence Blood Bank in Joint Hospital Srinagar. Dr Rawat said that thousands of patients from rural areas of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Pauri Garhwal districts come to Government Medical College Srinagar and Joint Hospital Srinagar for treatment, due to which there is a lot of pressure on the patients. Many times serious patients require blood, but due to the lack of blood banks nearby in the area, serious patients have to be referred to Dehradun and AIIMS Rishikesh. The Health Minister said that recently the Central Government has given four nursing colleges to the state, out of which one nursing college will be opened in Gahad Tok of Gram Panchayat Sweet, adjacent to the Medical College, Srinagar, so that the students studying here can easily get medical treatment. For this, sufficient land has already been donated to the Health Department by the people of Gahad village.
Reviewing the Srinagar assembly constituency, Dr Rawat directed the departmental officers to deploy adequate doctors and nursing staff in the community health centers, primary health centers and health and wellness centers falling under the development blocks Khirsu, Pabaon and Thalisain. He said that migration in Thalisain and Pabau development blocks has reduced compared to other areas, due to which even today most of the families of the area are living in their villages, to whom it is the responsibility of the government to provide better health services. In the meeting, instructions were given to the officers to speed up the ongoing construction works under the department and the construction of various buildings of the medical college.
