Integrated Himalayan Motorcycle Expedition flagged off by GOC-in-C, Central Command

Dehradun, 2 Oct: Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C, Central Command, along with senior serving officers and veterans, flagged off the Integrated Himalayan Motorcycle Rally from DSOI, here, today.

The expedition is aimed at promoting tourism and encouraging reverse migration to Garhwal Hills thereby enhancing the security apparatus.

Prior to the flag off, the Army Commander interacted with the riders and handed over the Motorcycle Expedition Flag to the Team Leader.

The 12-day, 22 bikes and one dream expedition, the Integrated Himalayan Motorcycle Expedition (I-HimEx 2024) via Dehradun – Harsil – Thagla Pass – Mana Pass – Lapthal-Rimkhim – Joshimath, will cover over 1800 kilometres and is likely to qualify as the first ever expedition in Garhwal Sector touching the important passes on the Line of Actual Control.

As the riders travel to their destination in all the valleys of Garhwal Himalayas, they will take with them the stories of valour, sacrifice, patriotism and spread the same among the populace of Garhwal Hill during the course of the expedition. The event is being sponsored by Royal Enfield & IOCL.

During the flag-off, senior serving officers, veterans, Rohan Jamwant Pimpley, who has served as the lead of Rides and community at Royal Enfield, overseeing India and SAARC countries, and Hemanth Rathore, the Executive Director of Uttar Pradesh IOCL and the State Head were also present.
