Dehradun, 20 Mar: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand, Dr BVRC Purshottam chaired a review meeting with state nodal officers at the Secretariat here today to discuss the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) scheduled for April in Uttarakhand. During the session, the CEO issued detailed directives to the concerned officials to ensure the smooth execution of the programme.
Purushottam announced that IT volunteers will be deployed alongside Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at every polling station across the state to provide technical assistance. These volunteers are tasked with supporting the digitisation of enumeration forms, while also assisting in the distribution and collection of these documents. To facilitate this, the CEO instructed the Additional Secretary of Rural Development and the Director of the Urban Development Department to expedite the recruitment of technically proficient youth for the campaign. Furthermore, he directed the Commissioners of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions to place special emphasis on mapping activities during the revision process.
Among those present at the meeting included Director of Urban Development Vinod Giri Goswami, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Prakash Chandra, Additional Secretary Jharna Kamthan, Director of Women and Child Development BL Rana, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi, Director of SIC Manish Jugran, Additional Director of ITDA Tirath Pal, and Deputy Director of Information Ravi Bijarniya, along with the Additional Commissioners of both the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions.
