DEHRADUN, 7 Jan: A programme was organised by the ‘Intellectuals and Technocrats Guild of India’ to welcome the New Year by holding a musical evening and honouring two distinguished veterans who have rendered meritorious service. Tarun Aggarwal, President, ITGI, and Secretary General Dr BK Nautiyal, welcomed the participants. The programme began with recitation of some poems on the New Year, followed by dances by young girl students.
Brig KG Behl (Retd), the patron, was the Chief Guest and, along with others, felicitated Dr NS Virdi, the noted former scientist, Wadia Institute, who was involved in many National Committees on glaciers, earthquakes, etc., and wrote many technical papers, etc. Former Superintending Engineer RS Sehgal was also similarly honoured. The programme continued with songs and dances. It was largely attended and prominent amongst those present who performed included Kavita Agnihotri, Capt and Mrs Dhyani, Madhu Srivastava, Mr Kashyap, Dr & Mrs Wahi, etc. Others present included Mr & Mrs Lajpat Sateeja, Dr Srivastava, Mr Taneja, Mrs & Dr JP Semwal, Dr SK Govil, Mr Gupta and others. Dr BK Nautiyal was the compere.
