‘Kho-Kho’ championships begin in Khel Mahakumbh


DEHRADUN, 16 Jan: The ‘Kho-Kho’ competition began today at the Nanurkheda Mini-Stadium here, today, as part of the ongoing ‘Khel Mahakumbh’ organised by the Yuva Kalyan evam Prantiya Rakshak Dal Department.
In the U-14 Boys’ category, the first match was between Uttarkashi and Nainital. Nainital won 11-7. In the second match, Dehradun beat Champawat, 7-5. In the third match, Haridwar got the better of Chamoli, 7-6. In the girls’ category, Udham Singh Nagar beat Uttarkashi, 4-3. In the second match, Tehri beat Champawat, 15-0.
In the U-17 boys’ category, Haridwar beat Rudraprayag, 14-5. In the girls’ category, Uttarkashi got the better of Champawat, 4-1. In the second match, US Nagar beat Rudraprayag, 19-1.
In the U-19 boys’ category, Tehri beat Bageshwar, 11-2. In the second match, Chamoli beat Champawat in sudden death and entered the quarter final. In the girls’ category, US Nagar beat Chamoli, 3-2. Champawat beat Almora, 4-3.
The quarter finals and semi finals in all categories will be played tomorrow.
