Dehradun 5 Sep: PCC Chief Karan Mahara today claimed that the directions given by the court of Special Judge (Vigilance) Manish Mishra to the Council of Ministers to take a suitable decision in the case of allegations of disproportionate assets against the Agriculture Minister are a serious matter.

He demanded that, as the head of the state government, the CM should take an immediate decision in this regard.

Mahara said that this is not the first occasion when allegations have been levelled against a minister of the BJP government. Earlier, several ministers have been accused of being involved in corruption, but the Chief Minister has not taken cognisance of these allegations. Now, since the court has given directions to allow filing of a case against Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi, considering the seriousness of the matter, the Congress party expects the Chief Minister to take a decision.

He reminded that RTI activist and advocate Vikesh Negi had filed an application in the court of Special Judge (Vigilance) Manish Mishra about two months ago, accusing Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi of acquiring assets disproportionate to his income. The Vigilance Establishment was requested to register a case against the Agriculture Minister and investigate. The court had sought a report from the Vigilance Establishment in this regard.

Mahara also said this is a testing time for CM Dhami, who claims zero tolerance against corruption, and demanded that the CM should take cognisance of this matter and remove Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi from the post and order an inquiry into the matter.
