Military Hospital Ranikhet hosts Inter-Command CME on Holistic Care

Ranikhet, 20 Jun: The first day of the Inter-Command Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference on “Holistic Care with Yoga & Integrated Medicine”, organised by Military Hospital Ranikhet in collaboration with Bhole Baba Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre, Chiliyanaula, commenced with enthusiastic participation from medical professionals across the Indian Armed Forces. This event aims to integrate traditional healing practices, such as Yoga and Ayurveda, into mainstream healthcare.

The day began at 6:30 a.m. with a Yoga and meditation session led by Ujjawal Parashar, highlighting the benefits of mind-body harmony. Participants then enjoyed a refreshing herbal tea before the inaugural ceremony.

The ceremony featured Chief Guest Lieutenant General Daljit Singh, Senior Colonel Commandant (AMC), who lit the ceremonial lamp and witnessed a Saraswati Vandana performance. The event also included the unveiling of a CD containing valuable insights into holistic care, bridging traditional practices and modern medicine.

Major General Yoginder Singh, MG (Med), UB Area, delivered the welcome speech, followed by a keynote address from Lieutenant General Daljit Singh on integrating Ayurveda and Yoga into mainstream care. Dr (Brigadier) Arvind Lal, Padma Shri awardee, Managing Director of Dr Lal PathLabs, spoke on the synergy between Ayurveda, Yoga, and modern medicine.

Further sessions included Lieutenant Colonel Vishal Chopra on mental well-being, Dr Gajendra Rao on cultivating Ayurvedic medicinal plants, and Dr Harit Kumari on therapeutic relevance on leech therapy. Dr Tarun Kumar provided insights on Panchkarma for neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.

The afternoon featured practical demonstrations of Marma massage, Nasayam, and Akshitarpanam by the Panchkarma department staff of Bhole Baba Ayurvedic Hospital under Dr S Mishra’s guidance.

Day 1 of the CME proved to be enlightening, offering participants practical and theoretical knowledge on holistic care.
