Dehradun, 25 Sep: Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s 108th birth anniversary was celebrated with great pomp, here, today. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi inaugurated the Pandit Deendayal Park built by Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority at Landour Bazaar. He also unveiled a statue of Pandit Deendayal.
On this occasion, the Landour Development Committee requested him to connect Landour Bazaar with the mainstream of development in Mussoorie. They said that Landour Market is the oldest in Mussoorie but, at present, it is being neglected due to which people are constantly migrating. On the other hand, several acres of Survey of India land located in the area is lying vacant, which can be used to develop the market from the tourism point of view. Also, several acres of land of the Municipal Council is lying vacant along the north road, which could be used to construct parking.
Cabinet Minister Joshi said that the residents of Landour market had been demanding the construction of the Pandit Deendayal Park for a long time which had been done with the help of Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority. It also has a mini gym. He said that the officials of MDDA have been instructed to make a plan for the development of Landour market. At the same time, talks will be held with central ministers and leaders regarding the use of the vacant land of Survey of India.
He reminded that Pandit Deendayal’s birth anniversary is celebrated as Antyodaya Day. This day reflects the dedication towards the uplift of the poor and deprived in Indian society. He said Antyodaya means the rise of the last person, that is, to bring the poorest and most backward person of society into the mainstream of society, for which every member of BJP is working hard.
Joshi added that the membership campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party is continuing. Thousands of people have taken membership of BJP in Mussoorie area also. Their target in Mussoorie is to make 49,000 members.
