Minority Education, Social & Welfare Society opens Education Centre for Girls

DEHRADUN, 10 Jul: Minority Education, Social and Welfare Society, Dehradun, opened an education centre at Kargi near Madina Masjid on 9 July for women to train them in computers, tailoring, beauty parlours, Urdu, Nursery Teachers’ Training (NTT) and other such courses. The centre was inaugurated by Dr S Farooq, Director, Himalayan Drugs, and a noted philanthropist, along with Brig KG Behl (Retd), President, AICC, and Sanyukta Nagrik Sangathan, Dr Himmat Singh, Haji Saleem Ahmed, Harpal Singh Sethi and others. Haji Saleem, Dr Himmat Singh and Harpal Singh spoke about the need to open such centres and praised Inaam Ramzi for his efforts to educate children who are keen to learn but are being denied opportunities. Brig Behl said that, by getting such training, the students could even function from their home and earn money to look after their families. Dr S Farooq wished good luck to the institute and expressed the hope that the students would learn and stand on their feet and take their family ahead. The programme was conducted by Inaam Ramji, Director of the Institute. Staff members Fauzia, Tamanna, Anchal and Zainab, along with 35 students were present on the occasion.
