MLAs & Officials to go on Exposure Visit with Education Minister Dr Rawat

Dehradun, 24 Feb: Under the leadership of the State’s Higher and School Education Minister, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, a delegation comprising MLAs and departmental officials will undertake an exposure visit to various states. As part of the study tour, the delegation will examine successful initiatives and innovations being implemented in the field of school education in Delhi and higher education in Andhra Pradesh, with the aim of adopting best practices to further strengthen the state’s education sector.

In a statement issued to the media, Cabinet Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the state government is continuously striving for the overall development of the state and is formulating schemes with a focus on the last person in the queue to ensure that the benefits reach every individual. He stated that the government has decided to send MLAs and officials on an exposure visit to study successful education models implemented in other states, so that such initiatives can be introduced in the state to improve the quality and efficiency of government schools and higher educational institutions.

Under the school education segment, a five-member team of MLAs and officials, chaired by Dr Rawat, will visit Delhi. The government has nominated Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, Haridwar Rural MLA Anupama Rawat, Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar, School Education Secretary Ravinath Raman, and Director General of School Education Deepti Singh for the visit. The delegation will study successful schemes run by the Delhi government in the education sector, measures adopted to enhance quality and efficiency in government schools, and the overall management of various educational institutions.

Similarly, under the higher education segment, a five-member delegation led by Minister Dr Rawat will visit Andhra Pradesh. The team will study innovations in higher education, modern technical training programmes, and various higher educational institutions in the state. During the tour, the delegation will visit the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), where nearly 400,000 students are being trained in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, and other advanced technologies. The team will also visit the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in Amaravati, the Nvidia Andhra Pradesh University, and Quantum Valley.

For this delegation, Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay, Chakrata MLA Pritam Singh, Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal, Higher Education Secretary Dr Ranjeet Kumar Sinha, and ITDA Director Alok Pandey have been nominated.

Dr Rawat stated that the dates for the exposure visit of the nominated MLAs and officials will be finalised soon. Based on the experiences gained during this study tour, concrete steps will be taken to improve the quality of education in the state, expand innovations, and provide better opportunities to students.
