DEHRADUN, 29 Jan: The Moravian Institute alumni gathered for a reunion on 27 and 28 January at their alma mater, here. On the occasion, Thondup Tshering, Convener of the Moravian Institute Alumni Association, remarked that the enthusiasm and spirit of Moravian Institute alumni could not be matched by the other institutions, even though he himself was also an alumnus of SRCC, Delhi, and IIM, Ahmedabad. It seemed that Moravian Institute had made a place for itself in the hearts of many of its students, so that they came back repeatedly.
This time alumni came from different parts of India as well as Canada, to journey into the past, to celebrate the present and also to contribute to their old school. The alumni are already sponsoring the education of two children at Moravian Institute. Principal Rev Kundan thanked the alumni for their affection towards their old school and their generosity towards the sponsored children. Another alumnus, Tseten Phuntsog, presented a plan to enhance the sports facilities of the school, which the rest of the alumni supported enthusiastically. The current pupils and staff appreciated greatly the reunion events, most of which were planned by another local alumnus, Sachin Chhetry, with eager anticipation of future reunions and events.
