DEHRADUN, 27 Dec: Under the State government’s flagship outreach campaign ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar, Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’, a multipurpose camp was organised at the Sahaspur Block headquarters yesterday under the chairmanship of SDM Vinod Kumar. The camp was aimed at resolving public grievances at the local level and ensuring the delivery of government welfare schemes directly to villagers, with benefits extended to as many as 709 beneficiaries through various departments. Lal Batti holder Vishwas Dawar, Block Pramukh Archana Rawat and several other public representatives were present on the occasion.
During the camp, villagers placed 38 complaints before the SDM, most of which were disposed of on the spot. Directions were issued to the departments concerned to address the remaining complaints on a priority basis. The SDM said that, in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, such multipurpose camps are being organised in every Nyay Panchayat so that eligible residents can avail themselves of government schemes without difficulty and local issues can be resolved promptly.
The complaints raised by villagers mainly related to drinking water supply, electricity, road connectivity, irrigation facilities, allocation of land for NRLM buildings, transfer of ration cards, construction of safety and retaining walls, illegal mining, construction of cowsheds and the growing problem of stray dogs in rural areas.
As part of the camp activities, the Health Department conducted medical check-ups for 159 persons under Allopathy, 59 under Homeopathy and 55 under Ayurveda, with free medicines distributed to all beneficiaries. The Animal Husbandry Department provided veterinary medicines to 14 farmers, while the Revenue Department issued 38 certificates on the spot. Assistance was extended to 8 farmers by the Agriculture Department, and the Horticulture Department benefited 26 farmers by distributing agricultural equipment, seeds and extending benefits under the PM Kisan Nidhi scheme. The Social Welfare Department sanctioned pension benefits for 5 eligible persons.
The District Supply Department completed KYC formalities for 26 ration card holders, while the Panchayati Raj Department resolved 29 cases. Benefits and assistance were also provided through the Child Development, NRLM, Labour, Fisheries, Electricity, Drinking Water Corporation, Education, REAP, Dairy and Rural Development departments. In addition, the Employment Department offered career counselling to 28 students.
