Graphic Era holds 13th Convocation Ceremony

Dehradun, 25 May: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi said today that individuals should never forget to keep themselves updated. In a rapidly changing world, only those progress who continue to learn and constantly refine their knowledge, skills, and perspectives. He added that the journey of learning never ends; rather, every new milestone opens doors to new possibilities and opportunities.
Pralhad Joshi addressed the 13th Convocation Ceremony of Graphic Era Deemed University as the Chief Guest. He stated that the 21st century is going to be India’s century, and the youth will play the most significant role in building a developed India. He said that India has emerged as the fastest-growing economy in the world, and this achievement is driven by the talent, hard work, and innovation of its youth. From Chandrayaan to Digital India, the nation has made historic progress in science, technology, and innovation. He emphasised that the future will be shaped by youth through research, discovery, and start-up culture.
He further urged students to remain humble, face difficulties with courage, and never forget the sacrifices and contributions of their parents and teachers. He said that responsibilities will increase and challenges will arise, but this period is also a golden opportunity for young people to grow and establish themselves as global leaders.
Praising Dr Kamal Ghanshala, Chairman of the Graphic Era Group of Institutions, he said that Dr Ghanshala is a visionary entrepreneur who has not only guided thousands of young dreams but has also provided them with a platform to realise those dreams. He added that the transformation of Graphic Era from modest beginnings into a nationally and globally recognised institution reflects his vision, innovation, and unwavering determination. Today, Graphic Era is not merely an educational institution; it has been established as a hub of opportunities, innovation, and future-building. Through AI initiatives, the iOS Centre, advanced research facilities, and industry-oriented education, students are being empowered with global-level technology, skills, and leadership capabilities.
Uttarakhand Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat stated that education is not only a means to obtain a degree but also a vital tool for personality development and nation-building. He said that Graphic Era University has earned national recognition for Uttarakhand through its quality education. He described Dr Kamal Ghanshala’s journey of struggle as highly inspiring, adding that his vision continues to give wings to the aspirations of thousands of students. Dr Rawat also appreciated Dr RC Ghanshala’s contributions in organic farming, dairy development, and social service, calling them strong examples of educational values in practice.
On the occasion of the 13th Convocation Ceremony, Dr RC Ghanshala, Chief Patron of the Graphic Era Group, was conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) for his remarkable contributions in social service, organic farming, dairy development, and the field of solar and renewable energy. The honour was presented by Chief Guest and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.
Dr RC Ghanshala stated that education is the greatest force for building society and the nation. He urged young people to work with sensitivity towards social uplift and environmental conservation, emphasising that only an aware and educated society can lead the country towards a better future.
Dr Kamal Ghanshala, Chairman of the Graphic Era Group of Institutions, advised students to rise above limited thinking, set higher goals, and resolve to become creators of opportunities and employment rather than only job seekers. He said that while India has built a strong global identity in the service sector, it is now time to bring a manufacturing revolution and set new benchmarks in self-reliance and innovation. He encouraged youth to engage in high-quality research, technological innovation, and world-class discoveries in the manufacturing sector. He further stated that true success is not measured only by position, prestige, or wealth, but also by a person’s values, relationships, and character. He urged students to respect their parents and elders, prioritise physical and mental well-being, and maintain sensitivity and communication in relationships.
Dr VK Saraswat, Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University and Member of NITI Aayog, formally declared the commencement of the convocation ceremony. Vice Chancellor Dr Narpinder Singh presented the university report and stated that Graphic Era University secured the 48th position in the 2025 National Institutional Ranking, marking a new milestone. He said that the university has established a strong reputation not only at the national level but also internationally in education, research, and innovation. More than 85 courses are being offered, and this year students received the highest placement package of Rs 61.63 lakh. He added that students have been placed in global companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon with attractive packages, bringing pride to the institution. In research and innovation, the university has achieved significant milestones with more than 1.5 lakh citations and 2,982 patents.
The convocation ceremony began with a grand and dignified academic procession. The event was attended by Laxmi Ghanshala, Chairperson of Graphic Era Educational Society, Dr Rakhi Ghanshala, Vice Chairperson of the Graphic Era Group of Institutions; Pro Chancellor Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Dr Sudhir Mishra, member of the Academic Council and former CEO and MD of BrahMos, Dr Durgesh Pant, Director General of UCOST, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Santosh S Sarraf, Registrar Dr Naresh Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr Amit R Bhatt, Registrar Dr DK Joshi, along with other officials, faculty members, and students.
57 receive Gold Medals, 3691 degrees awarded
Dehradun, 25 May: Graphic Era Deemed to be University awarded degrees to 3691 students and research scholars at its 13th convocation ceremony. The university conferred PhD degrees on 34 scholars. It also awarded gold medals to 57 students who topped their respective courses, while 58 students received silver medals and 55 were honoured with bronze medals.
Those awarded PhD degrees at the convocation ceremony included Ruchira Rawat, Aditya Joshi, Bhawnesh Kumar, Akashdeep Negi, Aditi Mohan, Pooja Bhatnagar, Sagar Bhatt and Kartikeya Raina. Gold medals were presented to 57 students, including Vandana Pathak, Ritwik Bahuguna, Kartikey Barthwal, Anukriti Sharma, Aditi Yadav, Sahaj Gul, Kashish Yadav, Aastha Shah and Anushka Lakhera. Silver medals were awarded to 58 students, including Pradeep Rawat, Akshat Bhatt, Aakriti Sharma, Akshay Saini, Aanshik Bahukhandi, Jigyasa Khanna, Fiza Fatima and Purva Saxena. Bronze medals were received by Mohit Singh, Priyanshu Parmar, Ankita Chandola, Ruchi Sharma, Dikshant Sharma, Diksha Gurung, Huzaifa Mehmood and 46 other meritorious students.
The convocation ceremony saw 3691 students of the 2025 batch receive degrees ranging from undergraduate to PhD level. The recipients represented disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Computer Applications, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Commerce, English, Mathematics and Hotel Management. Among them, 917 students received postgraduate degrees, while 2740 were awarded undergraduate degrees.
