Dehradun, 9 Nov: The grand conclusion of Ninad Utsav 2025 took place on the occasion of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day, today. This gathering of Himalayan states became a memorable event for the Department of Culture. For nine days, the Himalayan Culture Centre, located at Garhi Cantt, remained vibrant with the diverse cultural hues of the Himalayan states.

At the closing ceremony, Secretary and Director General, Culture, Yugal Kishore Pant, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and all officers and employees who contributed to the successful organisation of the festival.

On the ninth and final day, the artists of Navjyoti Cultural Committee, Dehradun, and Sunahre Ghungroo, Dehradun, presented mesmerising folk dances and songs on the Open Theatre Stage. In the afternoon session, performances by Aanchal Cultural Committee, Haldwani, Bauri Folk Cultural Song and Social Organisation, Darmigad Tyuni, and Tharu troupe from Khatima showcased the rich shades of folk culture.

The presentation by Samvedna Group, Uttarkashi, at the Open Theatre was particularly captivating. Dressed in the distinctive attire of the remote Mori region, the artists performed Mangalik songs followed by spectacular Tandi and Raso folk dances.

At the Auditorium, students who participated in the workshop conducted by Kathak dancer Shivani Mishra received high praise for their performance. The blend of Kathak and Himalayan folk dance styles thrilled the audience. Under the direction of Dr Ajit Panwar, Head of the Theatre Department at Doon University, sequential presentations of folk dances like Chholiya, Chapeli, Tandi, and Harul were staged, leaving the audience in the auditorium spellbound.
