Dehradun, 19 Oct: A crucial review meeting regarding the digitization of the Uttarakhand Assembly was convened by Speaker, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan. The meeting focused on the digitization process under the National e-Vidhan (NeVa) initiative, where she discussed in detail the preparations and procedures for the digital transition with officials.
During the meeting held at the Assembly building in Dehradun, Ritu Khanduri directed the officials to expedite the plan to fully digitize the upcoming session. She stated, “Our priority is to ensure that the Assembly is completely digitized before the next session, which will not only reduce paper usage but also represent a significant step towards environmental conservation. Additionally, this will save time and resources in session-related correspondence.”
Emphasizing the seriousness and importance of this process, Khanduri insisted that all officials must give their 100% in training to avoid any technical difficulties or challenges with the new workflows in the future.
She added, “The digital system will not only enhance transparency and efficiency but will also reduce costs associated with sending session-related documents from one office to another. This will save government employees’ labor and fuel as well. We will prioritize cybersecurity at every step to eliminate the possibility of cyber-attacks.”
Furthermore, she highlighted the special attention being given to cybersecurity, assuring that all digital processes would remain secure in the future. She urged all officials to view this process not merely as a technical change but as a new beginning for the functioning of the Uttarakhand Assembly.
At the end of the meeting, all officials provided suggestions related to the technical and administrative aspects of their departments and assured their full cooperation to make the digitization process successful.
Present at the meeting were the Assembly Speaker’s Special Officer Ashok Shah, In-Charge Secretary Hem Pant, Joint Secretary Chandramohan Goswami, Senior Administrative Officer Deep Chand, among other officials.
