Pharmacy Dept, U’chal University, holds workshop on “Data Analysis & Interpretation”

Dehradun, 13 Sep: Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is organising a workshop on “Data Analysis and Interpretation: Revealing and Explaining Trends” on 13-14 September. The workshop’s objective is to explore and promote basic data interpretation and analysis knowledge; demonstration of advanced design of experiment software and interpretation of statistical outcomes, quadratic equations, and response plots.

Present at the inauguration were Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, Guest Speakers Dr Priyank Purohit, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, Graphic Era Hill University, Prof (Dr) Naveen Chandra Joshi, DRI, Uttaranchal University, Dr Nidhi Nainwal, Associate Professor, UIPS, and Dr Supriyo Saha, Associate Professor, UIPS, along with faculty members.

First, the technical session was conducted by Dr Nidhi Nainwal. She demonstrated the basic principle and pharmaceutical data interpretation by UV spectroscopy. Dr Purohit discussed the basic principle, data analysis, and interpretations of the IR Spectrum. Later, Dr Joshi discussed X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and the interpretation of raw data via origin software.

A total of 150 B Pharma, M Pharma students, Research Scholars and faculty members actively participated in the workshop from different institutes and universities, including Shobhit University, Graphic Era University, Quantum University, IFTM University, Teerthankar Mahaveer University, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University with enthusiasm and interest.

The event ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr Nidhi Gairola, HoD, UIPS. It was organised by Faculty Coordinators Dr Pallavi Chand, Yogita Ale and Mansi Butola, Assistant Professor, UIPS.
