DEHRADUN, 26 Jul: After a recent complaint by parents about a student being physically tortured and forced to do 400 sit-ups, which caused serious injuries, SSP Ajai Singh held a meeting with the owners and operators of coaching institutes that prepare students for Defence services and other competitive exams.
In the meeting, the SSP instructed coaching center operators to be sensitive and responsible towards the students studying in their institutes. He emphasized that all areas of coaching centers must be covered by CCTV cameras so that every activity of students and trainers can be recorded and reviewed if needed.
The SSP also directed coaching centers to regularly update parents about their children’s activities and progress. He made it clear that no form of physical or mental harassment will be tolerated, and strict action will be taken if such cases are reported.
Police also instructed coaching center owners to appoint trained and well-mannered trainers, and to maintain a safe, positive, and student-friendly environment in their institutes.
