DEHRADUN, 26 Jul: On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced an increase in the ex-gratia amount given to Param Vir Chakra awardees from the state to ₹1.5 crore. Sainik Kalyan Minister Ganesh Joshi expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for this significant decision.
The Minister stated that Chief Minister Dhami, himself belonging to a military family, has always worked with sensitivity towards the welfare of soldiers and their families. The direct increase of ₹1 crore in the honorarium demonstrates his deep commitment to the welfare of the Armed forces. “During his tenure, the Chief Minister has twice increased the ex-gratia amount for Param Vir Chakra awardees at my request, and I wholeheartedly thank him for this,” said Minister Joshi.
