Mussoorie, 24 Sept: Following the instructions of SDM, Mussoorie, Anamika to strictly enforce traffic rules, here, a checking campaign was jointly conducted by the Police and the local administration at the main squares of the town. Action was taken against people without helmets, speeding and violating traffic rules. Challans were issued to those who violated the rules and many vehicles were seized.
On the Mall Road, a Thar jeep from Haryana had illegally installed a hooter and black film on it. The police took action and removed the black film and the hooter. A challan was also issued.
Naib Tehsildar Kamal Rathore said that the traffic in Mussoorie is being organised and people are being made aware of traffic rules. Two-wheeler drivers will have to wear helmets. He said that the campaign has been started from today, people are being made aware, while challans of many people have also been issued. He said that it is everyone’s responsibility to follow traffic rules. Violation of rules will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
