Dehradun, 12 Apr: Polling parties from seven assembly constituencies of the Tehri Lok Sabha Constituency and from 3 assembly constituencies of the Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency reached the Maharana Pratap Sports College, here, today. All the EVMs, VVPAT machines and BUs have been kept in the strong room established there. All of this under the charge of a heavy security force of the ITBP.
DM and District Election Officer SA Murugeshan expressed gratitude to all the officials, employees and security personnel who conducted a free and peaceful poll. The strong room has been established in 14 rooms of the College. The DM said that after sealing these rooms, three-layered security had been put in place, which includes the ITBP, PAC and Police. They will be deployed all twenty-fours. Nobody is being allowed to approach the area.
The polling parties from Chakrata too had reached the College by 6 p.m., today.
Present at the time of collection and sealing of the election material were SSP Nivedita Kukreti, SP, City, Sweta Chaubey, SP, Rural, Parmendra Dobhal, ADM BS Budiyal, ADM Ramji Sharan, and other election officials.
