Dehradun, 17 Feb: During a meeting regarding the Dehradun Elevated Corridor at the Secretariat here, today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami instructed the officials to begin work on the Rispana and Bindal corridors without delay. The Chief Minister directed the officials to request central assistance for connecting the Dehradun Elevated Corridor to the expressway and to start the work from the state sector as soon as possible. Considering the rapid population growth, increase in vehicle numbers, rise in tourists, and the potential traffic growth after the completion of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the Chief Minister emphasised the urgency of beginning work on the Dehradun Elevated Corridor.

The work includes the construction of an 11-kilometre elevated four-lane corridor along the Rispana riverbed and a 15-kilometre one along the Bindal riverbed. It also involves the relocation of public services such as electricity lines, high-tension lines, and sewer lines from inside the rivers. The elevated road will be accompanied by retaining walls on both sides of the river and flood protection measures. The Chief Minister has instructed all departments concerned to work in coordination. He also emphasised that, given the growth in population and vehicles, a well-planned strategy should be developed for other cities in the state as well.

The Chief Minister also directed that all ongoing development works in the state should yield tangible results on the ground. Special attention should be given to the quality and timely completion of these projects. He further directed the preparation for the upcoming Rajjat Yatra to begin. He asked the Chief Secretary to regularly review the progress of works like the UIIDB, the Dehradun Elevated Road, connectivity projects for Garhwal and Kumaon, the Mansakhkhand Temple Mala Mission, and preparations for the upcoming Nanda Rajjat.
