Nainital, 23 Sep: Several competitions were organised on the subject, ‘Cleanliness is Service’, at the Rashtriya Shaheed Sainik Smarak Vidyapeeth, Nainital, today. This competition was organised by the Central Communication Bureau, Nainital.
Sachin Kumar came first, Bhavna Kohli, second, and Himanshu, third. Anju Shahi Akash was declared the winner for writing the best slogan. Shreya, Bhavna, Rakshita and Kamal won prizes in the quiz competition.
The Programme Coordinator, Sharmishtha Bisht, shared that the Union Government is running a ‘Cleanliness is Service’ campaign in the entire country from 17 September till 2 October. The aim is to make people more aware about cleanliness and to make them responsible citizens in this respect.
Principal Tara Bora observed that the Central Communication Bureau has inspired the students to do better in the field of cleanliness by recognising their contribution and giving them awards. Anand Bisht said that, during the programme, the children also sang the cleanliness song collectively. A plantation drive was also carried out in the school premises under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
Regional Publicity Officer Neeraj Bhatt said that CBC Nainital is organising small programmes at school level. Efforts are being made to increase public participation through such campaigns. DS Mehra, Kundan Singh, Jitendra Bhatt, Vimlesh Goswami were among those present during the programme.
