Dehradun, 14 Nov: On the occasion of Bal Diwas and the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sankalp Educational and Welfare Society and Kshatriya Chetna Manch paid homage at the Nehru Smarak in the old jail campus.
Uttarakhand State Congress President Pritam Singh, officials and volunteers of many NGOs including Sanyukta Nagrik Sangathan along with children in a limited number were present on the occasion.
Social Worker and founder president of Sankalp, Ravi Singh Negi said that Sankalp Society conducts various programmes every year on the occasion of Bal Diwas but due to COVID-19, today’s programme was kept on a very limited scale. He added that the purpose of such programmes remains to provide opportunities to underprivileged children to express their views and ideas so that their confidence level increases. He asserted that under-privileged children do not lack talent, they only need suitable opportunities.
Sankalp General Secretary Anita Negi reported that the society is planning to launch a campaign on Environment Protection and health of underprivileged children.
Besides others, Sushil Tyagi, Mukesh Sharma, Sushil Saini, Ranjeet Kantura, Dr Mukul Sharma, Anita Negi, Monika, Tanya, Pari, etc., were present.
