Dehradun, 19 Sep: Sardar Bhagwan Singh University organised a Motivational Talk by Adhiraj Barua, and a Manipuri classical dance programme by Manju Elangbam on 17 September under the aegis of SPIC MACAY, Dehradun.
Adhiraj Barua, with a mission of National Integration, World Peace and Environmental Conservation, has undertaken an All-India tour on a bicycle to cover all states of the country measuring approximately 32,000 kilometres.
He was received by Prof Veerma Ram (Officiating Vice Chancellor), Urmi Chaurasia (Controller of Examinations), Shubham Shaily (Convener, Rotaract Club), Anuj Gupta (President, Rotaract Club) and Rotarians, with ferns and petals.
Later, Adhiraj Barua delivered a motivational talk and shared his story how his father did an All-India Tour on a cycle in 1987, which inspired him. His mission is to conquer the highest motorable road on his bicycle, the Umlingala Road in Ladhakh. Adhiraj Barua interacted with the students and encouraged them to serve the Nation as per their abilities.
The SPIC MACAY programme was inaugurated with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Prof Veerma Ram (Officiating Vice Chancellor), Prof Maneesh Arora (Dean, Students’ Welfare), Urmi Chaurasia (Controller of Examinations), and others.
Manju Elangbam and his team performed a Manipuri Classical Dance under the aegis of SPIC MACAY on Radha Krishna. Manju Elangbam is a faculty member of Manipur University and a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar by the National Sangeet Natak Akademi. He was accompanied by Jaya Khundrakpam, RK Upendro Singh, L Milanjit Singh, KH Khunjeshor Singh and S Nandeshwori Devi. Manju Elangbam and his team were felicitated with a token of appreciation.
The programme was coordinated by Capt Nalini Mehrishi, Dr Pooja Yadav (Convener, Cultural and Music Club), Deepika Ahuja, Dr Maitri Chaturvedi, Shubham Shaily (Convener, Rotaract Club) and other Rotarians. All the faculty members and students were present.
