Dehradun, 23 Sep: The All India Women’s Conference, Sahaspur Rural Branch, has been working hard for the holistic development of the underprivileged in the rural areas under the guidance of philanthropist Rakesh Dhawan over the past 35 years.
With a vision of holistic development in Sahaspur Block, AIWC is carrying out path breaking research and development at the core grassroots level within the community.
A significant portion of the work is in the field of Health Care, Livelihood and Education Health projects are an extended support for sustainable change in the healthcare system by strengthening existing healthcare systems and facilitating proper health care solutions in the villages.
In order to achieve this goal, AIWC Sahaspur Rural Branch runs a Charitable Dispensary providing free medication. They also hold, along with various Health Camps, a blood tests programme. This is in collaboration with Dr KKBM Shubharti Hospital.
Sustained investment in building up human and operational aspects of organisations can improve their overall programming and ensure long-term sustainability. Sustainable skill development is ripe for designing early-level interventions to help rural communities discover the power of the skills and digital medium in a structured and guided manner. Various vocational training courses are defining the girls and women with livelihood opportunities.
With a focus on Education that is the cornerstone of a child’s development, a Scholarship Grants Programme is developed by the Branch in collaboration with Sara Eminent (Park Belles).
The project is solely defined to develop the potential of the future minds to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.
On the occasion of the 80th birthday of Chairman of Sara Eminent (Park Belles) Vijay Kumar Dhawan, the scholarship students were felicitated with an appreciation letter and grants to pursue their dreams. Sargam Dhawan Bhavana, Director and COO, Planet Herbs Life Sciences, was present at the event and felicitated the students.
Dr Prashant Bhatnagar, eminent Public Health Specialist and Head, Marketing, and Dr BD Semwal from Dr KKBM Shubharti Hospital, congratulated and motivated the students.
Mr Bajaj, Plant Head from IPCA, Dinesh Pandey from IKON, also congratulated the students.
Prominent village members from the community, Raj Kamal, BDC Member, Irshad, ex- Pradhan, Anish Pradhan, Salim Haji, Furkan Bahi were also present and congratulated AIWC Sahaspur Rural Branch for its various initiatives. It was especially a proud moment for the village’s members to see their village girls and women’s accomplishments being appreciated.
A total of 80 scholarships were distributed today. Some of the prominent ones were Wasima, topper in GNM Course, first year; Shabnam Parveen, final year LLB topper; Shabana Anjami, B Pharma Topper in 2nd Year.
Two prominent students are Manisha, a mother of 2 children from Sahaspur Block, who is pursuing her education for class X along with her son; and Shama, a mother of 2 daughters, is now pursuing her Class XII. They aspire to go for higher studies along with their children.
Sargam Dhawan Bhavana further declared her grandad’s birthday to be scholarship day from Sara Eminent (Park Belles).
