Dehradun, 6 Sep: A Seminar on ‘Industrial Innovation with Human Values and Professional Ethics’ was organised by School of Applied & Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, here, today.
The seminar was inaugurated by lighting of the inaugural lamp by Chief Guest Dr S Farooq (President, Himalaya Wellness Company), Jitender Joshi (Chancellor, Uttaranchal University), Prof SS Sehgal (Vice President), Prof Dharam Buddhi (Vice Chancellor), Prof Rajesh Bahuguna (Pro-Vice Chancellor), Prof Abhishek Joshi (Director-SA & IT Services) and Prof Ajay Singh (Dean of Applied Science & Research).
The seminar was organised as part of an orientation programme for Ist year students of various science disciplines. The welcome note was delivered by Dean Prof Ajay Singh. He briefed about the objectives of the seminar and importance of human values and ethics. It was also organised in view of Himalaya Protection Week.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi focused on the need for innovation as per industrial applications. He motivated the participants to conduct research through dissertations and projects.
Dr S Farooq delivered his talk on human values and ethics in professional life. He quoted practical examples of human values which play a very important role in society as well as in professional life. He stressed on doing research with implications in life.
Vice President Prof SS Sehgal, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna also expressed their views. Chancellor Jitender Joshi proposed the vote of thanks. More than 750 students participated in the Seminar. It was coordinated by the Convenor, Prof Ajay Singh.
Dr Bharti Ramola, Dr VK Srivastava, Dr Waseem Ahmad, Dr Nishesh Sharma, Dr BS Rawat, Dr Rajeev Kumar, Dr MP Singh were also present. Ankit Joshi and Agrima Pandey anchored the event.
